 Allergies
are very important in treating any dental condition. Some people have
allergies to medications or materials. You will be asked about any specific
allergies you may have by the dentist as you fill out your health history.
Also as you return for a check up be sure to let the dentist know of any
new medical problems or changes in your health history. Be sure to let the
dentist know prior to treatment if you have allergies to any of the
following:

Medications
If you have ever had an allergic reaction to a medicine,
including dental anesthetics, please let us know. Alternate medications and
anesthetics can be used once we know what you are allergic to.
Allergies to Materials
If you have an allergy to certain materials please let the
dentist know. You may be allergic to metals in jewelry. Latex allergies can
also occur. Your dentist should be made aware of any allergy you may have.
Dentists use many materials in treating your dental health, and if you have
an allergy to a material that is commonly used, the dentist will find an alternate
material or treatment for you
