What Are Veneers?

Veneers are thin custom facings that are attached to the front surfaces of
the teeth. A Veneer can be made of porcelain or of composite resins.
Veneers are strong, durable restorations that can improve the color size
and shape of the teeth. Veneers can help you achieve that beautiful white
straight smile you have always wanted.
Veneers can correct many dental problems including:
- Discolored teeth from age
or medication
- Teeth that are worn or
chipped
- Closing gaps or spaces
that occur between teeth
- Crooked Teeth
Procedure
Veneers usually require 2 or 3 office visits. Your teeth will
usually be shaped to allow for the fit of the veneer. An impression or mold
of your teeth will be made. This mold allows the dentist to custom
construct your veneers to your specific size, color, and tooth position.
You return at a second appointment to have the veneers attached or bonded to your teeth. Depending on the type of
veneer and your original tooth size and anesthetic
may be need during these appointments.
Are Veneers Right For You
Veneers are a new, conservative treatment for many cosmetic
problems. Only a consultation with your dentist will tell if veneers are
the right choice to give you that healthy, white smile you have always
wanted.
